Updating Lease Price + Security Deposit in MLS and Appfolio
We need to keep MLS and Appfolio updated with accurate lease + security deposit pricing.
Typically, we will receive an email notification if a lease price adjustment is required. When updating the lease price, we will also adjust the security deposit to match the lease price.
Additionally, any changes made to the lease price and security deposit in the MLS must also be updated in AppFolio to ensure consistency in the rental information.
When you receive an email notification to update price for a listing, complete the steps below.
Part 1: Updating MLS
- Login to MLS.
- Click 'Add/Edit', then select 'Listing Manager' from the Dropdown.
- Locate the property you wish to edit, then click 'Edit'
- Change the list price.
- Scroll down to 'How to Apply'
- Change the 'Security Deposit' to match the list price.
- Click 'Publish listing' to save the listing.
- Then, look at the listing page to confirm the price has been updated.
- Then, proceed to update Appfolio
Part 2: Updating Appfolio
- Open Appfolio and search the property in the search bar.
- Under 'Rental Information,' click the edit button on the top right to go to editing mode.
- Click Change Market Rent to update the rent.
- Change the Security Deposit to match the lease price.
- Leave everything else the same.
- Click save to save the changes.
- Next, please review the MLS listing, AppFolio, and the Available Properties page to confirm the price and security deposit are accurate in both locations.
- After you have confirmed the price and security deposit is accurate on both sites, you're done!
